  • The width of the beam itself
  • The weight of the boat in total
  • The height of the boat in total
  • The make/model of the boat
  • Whether it is a power boat or a sail boat
  • Whether it has a single or twin engine
  • The year of the specific model
  • The address which the boat should be picked up at, along with the phone number for that location
  • The address which the boat should be dropped off at , along with the phone number for that location
  • Is there a travel lift or a crane at the locations which you want the boat picked up at and dropped off at
  • Your full name and your phone number
  • When you would want the boat to be transported
  • Anything else you require (eg. Boat needs to be prepared - some companies may not offer this, etc)

So the previous listed a lot of information that is helpful to give to the marine transport company. As well, some marine transport companies will offers a dry storage if you wish to store your boat at the marine transport company storage spot. This is desirable when in the middle of moving. Storage spots usually fit any vessel up to 45’ long and can allow short term or long term storage.
