Hatteras began building boats a long time ago. Their first sportsman fisher yacht was built in 1960 in North Carolina and ever since then, they continued to build fishing boats and built even better ones regularly. The first boat they built was a 41 foot twin cabin sports fishing boat with a 14 foot beam and a pair of 275HP Lincoln V-8's. Every year, Hatteras continues to build even bigger and better fishing yachts and continues to beat the competition, making the possibilities endless. Their main goal plan is to build strong boats which can withstand harsh conditions and have succeeded fairly well. Hatteras became one of the first manufactures to ever use fiberglass while building their yachts.

While a lot has changed over the years, one thing hasn't. Hatteras continues to create boats which lead the industry in high performance and also lead the industry for the strongest boats in rough water conditions.
